Anywayz, just want to show you some pics from yesterday night. This year, it's a bit quiet since only 1 of my brother came back for the "bai Tien Gong" session. Last year, almost all my family members were around including Adam and Donny... which was really crowded and happening.
However, we still had the usual huge lump of "gold" right in front of the house...and heard quite a lot of fireworks around, as well as a number of "hong ming deng" flying in the skies
For those of you who don't know what is "Bai Tien Gong", it is actually one of the festivals celebrated by mainly the Hokkien community. It is said that the Hokkiens treat the 9th day of the 1st month of the Lunar calendar as the 1st day of the New Year. I not so sure how the story goes already, something about the people hiding in sugar cane estates during the war and only came out to celebrate the new year on the 9th, hence u'll find sugar canes being used for every one of this festival.
